Beata Bochorodycz

Beata Bochorodycz is a Doctor Habilitated in Social Sciences and a professor at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, specializing in Japanese studies and political science. Her expertise encompasses Japanese politics and diplomacy, Japan–U.S. relations, civil society, and social movements, particularly in the aftermath of the Fukushima disaster. She holds degrees in Japanese studies from AMU and in law (with a focus on political science) from Kyushu University in Japan. She earned her Ph.D. in 2007 and her habilitation in 2019 from the Institute of Political Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences. She has conducted research at institutions such as Yokohama National University, the Sigur Center for Asian Studies at George Washington University, SOAS in London, and GRIPS in Tokyo. She is the author of numerous publications, including the book Fukushima and Civil Society (Routledge, 2022).
