He has 11 years of experience as a vice-rector, 25 years as a rector, is a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST, Great Britain), a member of the scientific program committee and an honorary member of the International Conference on Maritime Navigation and Safety of Maritime Transportation (TransNav, Poland), served as a member of the International executive committee and deputy chairman of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU, Japan), is an Honorary Fellow of IAMU, Chairman of the Specialized Academic Council for the Defense of Doctoral Theses, was elected a deputy of the Odessa Regional Council, Chairman of the Standing Commission on the Maritime Complex, is the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the International Forum on Seafarers’ Education, Training and Crewing. Author of over 150 scientific papers on the problems of maritime transport, ship energy and automation. He has repeatedly participated in the work of the International Maritime Organization as part of the delegations of Ukraine and the International Association of Maritime Universities.
