Sergej Sumlenny

Sergej Sumlenny is a political scientist and an independent analyst with his focus on security and energy issues in Ukraine, Russia and Belarus, based in Berlin.

He was a Director of Heinrich Böll Foundation office in Kyiv in 2015-2021, being responsible for the Foundation's work in Ukraine and in Belarus. He worked as a business consultant and a business journalist before and holds a PhD in political science.

He authored several books and speaks German, English, Ukrainian and Russian.
